Before you ride
Licence: you need a valid driving licence that covers the category of the scooter or motorbike you rent. Depending on the engine size, that is an AM/M or A category licence. Not sure what yours covers? Contact us before you book and we'll help you check.
Age: you need to be at least 25 and have held your driving licence for at least 3 years.
Helmets: included for everyone on the scooter, rider and passenger.
Riding on Skiathos
The main road runs along the south coast from Skiathos town to Koukounaries, past most of the popular beaches. A 50cc handles it comfortably for one rider.
Roads inland and towards the north of the island are steeper and more winding. A 125cc or 250cc gives you the power to climb without struggling.
Riding two-up adds weight on every climb. Pick a 125cc or 250cc if you'll be sharing the scooter.

For one person staying mostly on the south coast, a 50cc is enough. If you're riding with a passenger or want to explore the hillier parts of the island, choose a 125cc or 250cc.
